January, 2014, Scott Gillman and Guy Conti had summary judgment in favor of Auto-Owners Insurance affirmed on appeal by the Third District Appellate Court, which confirmed that an Umbrella Insurance policy does not increase uninsured motorist coverage.

February, 2014, Guy Conti achieved a dismissal with prejudice in Cook County, IL in favor of a motorist who was sued for a traffic collision after the statute of limitations had expired.

May, 2014, Guy Conti achieved a dismissal with prejudice in Lake County, IL in favor of passenger in a boat who was alleged to have rendered “substantial assistance or encouragement” to pilot of a boat which struck and killed a child in a lake.
July, 2014, Scott Gillman presented “Identifying Medical Provider Fraud” to a mutual insurer in Fond du Lac, WI.
August, 2014, Peter Schoonmaker presented “The Do’s and Dont’s of Avoiding Bad Faith” to one of our mutual insurance company clients.

September, 2014, Matthew Cook presented “Claims Issues with Vacant and Abandoned Buildings” at the IASIU National Seminar, Greensboro, NC.

November, 2014, Peter Schoonmaker and Mark Ruda presented “How Much Fraud is “Enough”” to the Illinois Chapter of IASIU in Woodridge, IL.

In 2013, Mark Ruda was named by American Lawyer Media and Martindale-Hubbell™ a “Top Rated Lawyer in Insurance Law and Coverage.”

Guy Conti co-authors an article in the March, 2013 issue of Claims Management magazine, entitled  “How to Handle a Hoarder”.

On October 13, 2013, Paul Festenstein and Guy Conti of our offices presented two topics to the adjustors of Rockford Mutual Insurance Company.  Mr. Festenstein’s presentation was entitled “Important Changes to the Illinois Rules of Evidence”.  Mr. Conti’s presentation was entitled, “Assisting the Claims Professional to Provide Effective Deposition Testimony”.

On November 21, 2013, Paul Festenstein and Scott Gillman of our offices presented two topics to the adjustors of Auto-Owners Insurance Company.  Mr. Festenstein’s presentation was entitled “Tenders of Defense:  Can We Avoid the Pitfalls and Simplify this Mysterious Process”.  Mr. Gillman’s presentation was entitled, “He Who Spoils is Lost:  Understanding Spoliation of Evidence”.
